About 2 weeks ago, I bought a rpm bike from Canadian tire.
It was on sale for $700 and I am happier than I have ever been spending more than $10. Over the past 2 weeks, I have lost 5 pounds and I haven’t changed a thing except making sure that I bike every day, even if it’s for 20 minutes slowly in front of the TV. I should warn you if you don’t, or have never biked on a spin bike, the seat will hurt you (especially women), for the first few times.
The bike I bought was the Livestrong LS9.9IC Exercise Bike. – Normally $1999.00 so I have to stress this strongly. I am all for paying money for things that are worth it, and I definitely think that a good bike is worth the investment (or whatever your cardio of choice is). There are, however, amazing deals that you can find online, to get a good piece of equipment for half the price or less!
Aside from the benefits of losing weight without even trying, I have 5 reasons the bike has been totally worth the money for me, and why I think it will probably do the same for you!
1. The bike is sitting there, next to my TV, just taunting me and telling me I’m out of shape
If the bike is just sitting next to you, and you have the option of sitting on a couch in front of the TV at night, or biking while watching TV, it’s hard to say no to the bike without feeling completely lazy.
2. I don’t have to go anywhere like to a gym, so I have 0 excuses.
“It’s too cold to get to the gym today” isn’t in my vocabulary anymore.
3. You can get rid of your gym membership and the bike will pay itself off!
If you have any kind of gym in your building that has weights, the only other thing you need is a good piece of cardio equipment. Even if you don’t have a gym in your complex, building a home gym is quite easy. You can get a set of weights for fairly cheap if you look!
4. It makes people think you are hardcore.
It’s funny how many people come over and see our bike, and they’re like wow! You must work out all the time! I’m always very close to saying “No good sir. I actually just don’t have enough space to have a full out exercise room in my 900 sq ft apartment.” But instead, I just go with it and pretend I’m a super biker.
5. I’ve found some amazing workout videos at home.
Since I got rid of my gym membership (even though I have a decent gym upstairs), it still gets my endorphins going but I don’t feel like leaving my place. So I normally look up (in between days that I’ve done weight work outs), good workout videos that I can find online.
So I bike and then I’m all like:
So there you have it. Invest in a bike. Lose weight without trying. Feel and look great!
