I know you were all looking forward to more pictures, but I thought this week I would put up some “tinder tips” for men on tinder and other dating sites to see if I can make the world better, one tinder man at a time:
Please keep in mind that this is all in good fun, and that if these men hadn’t put up their pictures, I wouldn’t be having as much fun as I have been on tinder. These tips are for the guys who actually want a good reaction to their pictures, and are looking for someone to actually date.
So here is a list of things that gets a left swipe for sure (for me):
1. Shirtless Selfies: When you obviously have never seen the gym in your life or to that note, when the most physical exertion you get in a day is trekking up the stairs from your moms basement playing hours of video games to break for the bathroom and a snack, I’d rather get to know YOU and not your shirtless self that’s automatically turned me off. To the guys who do workout, it’s obvious you do so please leave your shirt on and stop flexing. If you’re fit I can actually tell you are even when you wear a t-shirt, but the t-shirt will make you look less self narcissistic and douchey. It also makes me think you’re trying to hide something else by distracting me with your body.
2. Bathroom Selfies with SUNGLASSES: Stop…just stop. It doesn’t make you look cool or mysterious, it makes you look like a loser who is just trying way too hard and yet still can’t get it right.
3. Party shots: I don’t want to date a guy who’s pictures are of them at clubs being grinded on by other drunk girls, having alcohol poured down their throats by strippers or anything even close to those. It doesn’t make you look fun and exciting. It makes you look like a male skank and one without much to actually offer. Keep in mind, I’m a girl. If I want to party, I can do it without you. If you want a picture of you at a party, have a picture of you in a suit that’s actually classy. Now that’s something i’d swipe right for.
4. Driving selfies: This is illegal. Yes it is still considered as using a hand held device while driving. I would rather a normal picture than actually getting concerned about the ever increasing (more and more of these just keep appearing) chances of being rear ended because the guy behind me realized the light was just right to take a selfie. I wonder if many police officers or courts have heard…’oh I’m sorry officer, I just had to take a selfie for the Tinder ladies to show them I own a car and have a license and I forgot the flash was on so I just didn’t see that parked car while momentarily blinded.’
Those are just a few. I don’t want to inundate you with too many ‘what not to do’s’. Just digest these and go through your pictures. If any of these are in your profile…REMOVE THEM NOW. You might actually get a decent lady swipe right for you 😉
