Soft skin is sexy skin; and soft skin that you get from using sensual body scrubs is really sexy skin. What’s even better is when you can give the gift of really sexy skin. Lately I have been juggling around a few ideas in my head about what to get my friends and family for Christmas this year (they are so hard to buy for sometimes), and instead of spending a fortune, I have decided to make my own wonder-working products at home in larger quantities for a fraction of the cost! I read up online about different home-made beauty product ideas and through all of my research I have come up with a magical concoction specialized to my dry-handed needs.
So, ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you…
Taylor’s Candy Cane Hand Scrub
What you will need:
2 cups white granulated sugar
¼ – 1/3 cup walnut oil
A few drops of peppermint essential oil or pure cinnamon extract (To keep it holiday themed)
½ tsp 100% natural shea butter (15.00/ 199g at natural food stores)
A few drops of red and green food colouring (or raspberry juice for the red)
2-3 crushed candy canes (so that they are almost in powder form)
A small jar
Pour the sugar in a bowl. Slowly add the oil to the sugar, stirring constantly. The amount of oil you use depends on the consistency desired. Mix thoroughly. Add the Shea butter, peppermint oil, and crushed candy canes. Split the mixture in two; add a few drops of the red coloring to one half and the green coloring to the other. Spoon one color in after the other into the jar; rotating colors as to create a “candy cane” look. Dress up the jar with cute ribbons and a holiday tag and you are ready to give your gift! The mixture will stay fresh for about a month if your jar is tightly sealed between uses, and then your gift recipient will be begging for more!
To Apply: Spoon about a tablespoon sized amount of the scrub on to your hands and gently rub in small circles, exfoliating the skin. As the mixture starts to wear away, rise it off with water and then dab your hands on a dry towel. Voila!
