For years I’ve been making my own hummus. ORGANIC hummus.
I try to make everything I can from scratch. Obviously it’s not always easy – but I have so many health restrictions that I like to know exactly what I’m putting into my body. Plus – Hummus is the EASIEST thing to make, and people are always BLOWN away with how good it is.
This is how to make garlic hummus without tahini. In my opinion, it’s the best garlic hummus recipe there is.
With every recipe I give you, I will give you links to everything I can with the items I use (or usually use). Just click on the item to buy it!
So – What do you need for this specific hummus recipe?
- 1 can of Organic Chickpeas
- A lemon
- Garlic (you do you here.)
- Organic Olive Oil
- *I use curry powder too – Optional (this is not organic)
From there it’s SIMPLE:
- Rinse chickpeas
- Put them into a Nutribullet
- As much raw garlic as your heart desires
- Squeeze full lemon in
- Tablespoon of Olive Oil
- Just a touch of water for a smoother texture (or more Olive Oil if you like the taste)
- MIX in Nutribullet (I use the long blades)
If you don’t have a Nutribullet – you can buy one HERE. (I make soup, hummus, sauces, and basically anything that is pureed with mine, so it is a staple in our household.)
Of course you can make your changes based on your needs.
If you want a hummus recipe with tahini, add tahini!
If you want a hummus recipe without garlic, just don’t add garlic!
You’re smart. You get it. 😉 There are so many hummus recipes out there, so feel free to get creative! Then you can add different flavours based on what you like. Avocado. Curry Powder. Chili Oil. The world is your oyster!
Let me know what you think of the recipe and if you come up with any new hummus inventions!
