Yesterday Chrissy had a great article on Easter and what it actually meant. I’m not really so much on the holidays in the religious sense. I love the holidays as time to take an extra day for my friends and family, and the day after whatever Holiday it is to buy ALL THE CHOCOLATE as Chrissy put it.
So as I was saying Easter is over and all that chocolate – on sale. Like. SUPER cheap. What I like more is having an excuse to make delicious treats with alcohol in them and say that “I’m doing it for the occasion… and if I happen to make WAY too much that last me until Christmas then so be it!”
This easter I found a very interesting article that I think has been around for years, but one that I love:
However, this seemed like a little too much sugar and a little too little alcohol. This Easter I was lucky enough to not have to spend time with family I don’t like, however we all have those family members that we prep for with an extra shot of vodka. This is for those who want an extra shot without anyone knowing.
The article above tells you how to make the eggs, and I’m telling you to ADD RUM OR VODKA. I swear it’s the best thing, and it’s so easy. Are you ready?
USE ALCOHOL IN THE CHOCOLATE!
Seriously. Yum. Unfortunately they don’t last too long depending on how much you actually put in, so try a small amount at first and experiment. But seriously – use your favourite alcohol (I suggest rum since it’s made from sugar anyway), and you’re set!
So there you have it. Unfortunately I know it’s already after Easter, so this is really a tip for your next holiday. BUT – now you can use your left over chocolate (if you have any), or go buy some cheap chocolate now, to experiment for next year.
